I realized that the torches were not coming to destroy the houses, they were lighting the heaters, bringing extra heat for the cold nights of Winter, extra Light during the darkest hours of night...showing signs of increased provision during a season of great unknown.

As hard as it’s been, we DO believe we are all emerging from the fire. Unfortunately, this wasn’t one of those fires where we’re emerging untouched—we have ALL been burned and definitely smelling like smoke. HOWEVER—we think that’s the point.
